This Delta hotel is across the river to the core area of the city, and the drive to the hotel is easy. From the outside this hotel looks like a castle, pretty much like Fairmont Empress. But when you walk inside it becomes very modern with lots of glass. Check-in is fast, and I got the free upgrade from a no-view room to a room with water-view.
There is a balcony on the club floor (6th floor), and you can step outside, sit and talk while enjoying the view and sunshine. The club lounge is located on the 3rd floor, where you can have appetizers during happy hour and breakfast in the morning. It tends to avoid looking like a business meeting place but rather a cozy meeting room where you can eat and drink.
I have tried their happy hour and breakfast: that is living up to the level of the other Delta Hotels: delicate and delicious. But since there are so many restaurants within walking distance, I just had taste of their snacks and walked to the other side of the river to find local food.
During my stay I tried to put my supper towards their restaurant-Lure, but it turned out that I was totally ignored by the passing-by waiters, and I had to go back to the room to have the in-room dining. I ordered their fish and soup, and found that this restaurant is actually a real restaurant-not a dining place attached to the hotel but has its own personality.
Fitness center and swimming pool are great and and not busy when I went in. The swimming pool is half-outside so you can have the sunshine bath while not in the pool. What surprised me is that this hotel has two outside tennis courts and some squash courts.
As its name indicates, this Delta property acts more like a resort: it has the whole package to accommodate your stay here.
